Troop 10 Fall Activities

Lexington’s Boy Scout Troop 10 has been up to a lot of exciting activities this fall! In September, the troop spent a weekend camping at Winter Island, a campsite in Salem, Massachusetts. Boys spent the day walking around the center of Salem, exploring all it had to offer. They  visited the variety of shops and even took a tour of the Salem Witch Museum. Afterwards they returned to their campsite, located right on the beach.

In October, the troop hiked up to the Carter Notch hut in the white mountains. Most scouts took a direct route up to the hut, while others chose to take a more scenic but strenuous path which was almost twice as long. Up at the hut, scouts were able to explore a large boulder field just outside of the hut area. Rainy weather the next day motivated the troop to make a speedy descent.

In November, Troop 10 hosted a campout for Lexingtons Weblo Scouts, at the Sayre Scout Reservation. This trip was an opportunity for cubscouts from Lexington to spend a day with Troop 10 to see what Boy Scouts is all about. The Troop led the Weblos in games, lessons, songs, and many other fun activities throughout the day. Webloes got to learn the basics of fire and knife safety, general first aid, and even some of the geology of the surrounding area. At night a campfire was held where scouts and cubs were given an opportunity to sing, dance or perform a skit.
